China and Zambia established diplomatic relations in 1964. Zambia was the first country in southern Africa to establish ties with China, and their longstanding friendship and cooperation have continued to deepen.
On February 19, 2025, a China–Zambia Economic, Trade and Cultural Exchange Event opened at the Embassy of Zambia in China.
